Presentation of oar to GBYC

On Friday night a media event was held at Grand Baie Yacht Club to formally welcome the crew. The event was attended by Arvind Bundhun, Director of Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority, representatives of the Coastguard, Keara Shaw, Chargé d’Affaires for the Australian High Commission Mauritius, Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation and other members of the media.

After an hour of Q&A the crew were delighted to present Mélissa Paturau Vatinelle, President of GBYC and Manager, Louis Davy, with a signed oar from Goldie. We cannot thank the Grand Baie Yacht Club Commitee and staff enough for their help and support at very short notice, especially Louis - you are a legend! Thank you too to the members that came to see the crew arrive, attended Friday's event and have been so warm and welcoming to the families!
