Steady progress in the first 12hrs

Setting off from Geraldton at 5:30am the crew have made steady progress over the first 12hrs. Their tracker pings every 2hrs and last recorded a speed of 2.6 knots (~4.8km/hr). They will need to average at least 2.36 knots to break the record of 67 days. Early days, but a great start! The next 12hrs will be critical as they "thread the needle" and navigate between the Houtman Abrolhos islands in the dark! Once through they will be in open ocean for the remainder of the trip.
